Change isn’t a piece of cake, unless you initiate it
Remember all those business changes that were supposed to make your company more productive, more competitive, more agile… 70% of them failed. Most of the time the change came as a top-down decisions where the leaders did not consider the change from the employee’s perspective.
When employees are asked how to achieve a goal with specific means and enough context. They come up with practical ideas. For that to happen the hierarchy needs to realize that the collective intelligence is much stronger than theirs. It also means sharing power and trusting employees.
